Welcome to the prologue of Countdown to Capture.  I’m Jennifer Manzella, and I’ll be hosting this podcast about Peter Chadwick.

Who is Peter Chadwick? He’s a man who killed his wife in the peaceful coastal community of Newport Beach, California in October 2012. He also is at the top of the United States Marshals Service list of most wanted criminals.

And who am I? Well, I’m not a reporter, and I’m not a true crime enthusiast… and I’m certainly not a disinterested third party. I am the spokesperson for the Newport Beach Police Department, the agency that investigated this murder and arrested Peter Chadwick. An agency that is VERY interested in finding out where he is now.

Over the course of the next two weeks, we’ll be releasing a total of six episodes, detailing Peter Chadwick’s crimes, his arrest, the beginning of his court proceedings, and how he has been able to escape justice – so far. I’ll tell you about the life he led, the lies he told, and how he abandoned his children. I’ll tell you why he’s “most wanted”.

Over those two weeks, new episodes will come out on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  Episode 1 will be released on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.

And now, the disclaimer: This podcast will discuss adult themes and violent crimes.  Listener discretion is advised.

It is about a murder investigation, after all.

I’d like to point out that this is an open case.  Which means that I have a delicate balancing act.  I will be sharing as much information as I can, without compromising our investigation.  Because catching Peter Chadwick is one thing… but putting him on trial and getting a conviction – that’s the ultimate goal.  Beyond the content of the podcast, there are very few questions that we can answer.

With the hundreds of thousands of podcasts available today, even in the vast sea of “true crime” podcasts, I’d like to thank you for finding ours.  I think you’re going to enjoy it.
